Its song — which I heard at dawn at a cousin's house last Saturday — includes a little telephone-ringing repertoire. The Solitary Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11284354541952038339noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8319797996494487653.post-47969352724498270882014-04-22T21:36:14.413+01:002014-04-22T21:36:14.413+01:00The telephone bird has been around for years. My garden ambitions are much more modest - but I was pleased with myself for cutting the grass today, first time this year, and even managing to sit for a while in the sunshine, enjoying the way it looks, and hearing so many different birdsongs, particularly the 'telephone bird' which mimics a ringing phone.dritanjehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16025213970107184429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8319797996494487653.post-86456196520878623502014-04-14T19:40:41.927+01:002014-04-14T19:40:41.927+01:00Love that zen pond! The concrete statue of a mother and child on the left is rough, but has personal family connections. The two grey planters have Buddha motifs. The trellis is hiding a dead area which was caused by having to fell a Corsican pine tree which dominated the garden so much that there was little light and nothing could grow there! Hopefully the roses and clematis now planted beneath will give cover. I like the focal splash of blue and the shadow of the trellis in the pond!
