Undués De Lerda

From the campsite near Ruesta I pressed on uphill for several hours along zigzagging forestry tracks. Every now and then I caught a glimpse of the Embalse de Yesa, an artificial lake formed from the damming of the river Aragón ...

The afternoon had been a tiring one, but I finally sighted the village of Undués de Lerda ...

... which I reached down this amazingly well preserved stretch of Roman road ...

In Undués I stayed in the albergue - a very fine building next to the church of San Martín ...

Next day I followed a shallow, treeless, agricultural valley between low hills. The weather had turned overcast with a little rain. Red-winged grasshoppers jumped out of my path. Flocks of corn buntings made their rattling calls. After a few km I crossed from the region of Aragon into the region of Navarre ...

... and by lunchtime the Camino ...

... had brought me to the town of Sangüesa, where I spent the night ...

I do like my walks second-hand - particularly in this awful weather.
Thanks for the tip to read MacFarlane - I put my foot in it as I mentioned it to my friend and she has bought me a book by him for Christmas and said, "Oh my God, I can never keep anything secret!"

At least you'll receive a present you know you'll like. Most Xmas gifts are ill-conceived and unwanted, in my experience!

Stopping in again to see your photographs. Seeing what you see on your walking journey is like stepping into a recurring dream I have where I am walking through a countryside that is far from home but familiar. I am always trying to get home before dark even though I know that home is farther away than that.

Have you listened to Tell Tale Signs? That's what I listen to in my car these days

Thank you for those lyrics. That's part of what I like so much about Tell Tale Signs. There are songs I've not heard before and then there are songs I know well with additional lyrics. Still haven't been able to hear them all yet.
