Radiant

Today, as I travelled between Lincoln and Caistor, the countryside was a dazzle of fresh green leaves and new green corn shoots; pink and white blossom; the bright yellow flowers of celandine, dandelion and oilseed rape.

Later, back home, the late afternoon sun fell slantingly over the village, bathing the churchyard in a warm and glowing light.

Nice shots. I especially like the third (bottom) one. Celandine just starting here, dandelions have been around a while. We're just lagging a bit behind.

I'm often amazed at how closely the seasons in England and the Pacific Northwest parallel each other.

It's definitely cherry blossom time here, too.

Ah .... the acid yellow of oilseed rape! So pretty and yet so evil. It's the only pollen that causes me any problems at all, and we're totally surrounded this year. Even the field right next to our house is turning yellow.

It gives me a painfully dry nose and throat. Each year I'm fooled into thinking I'm coming down with a virus until I notice the yellow haze forming over the fields and remember!
