I knew he reminded me of someone, and you've put your finger on it, Rachel! He did think he was a bit of a comedian too.

You are not the first person who has pointed out to me the similarity with Ross Noble - on looks I assume you mean, Ross is a far better comedian and conversely I am sure Martin is a far better vocalist than Ross - (he - Martin - is rather more handsome too :-))
Thanks for coming to see him Solitary Walker - next time maybe he will bring a band like on the YouTube clip you posted, or at least another musician - (pianist/bandonoeon player) which will allow him to perform a quite different set

Hey — thanks for your comment, Lisa! You did such a great job, last night! I could tell how much you were into the music. And organising Martin Alvarado's whole UK tour — congratulations to you! His voice is divine. I thought the audience were quite appreciative. Really, really liked it all — and very much the less amplified couple of songs he did at the end, and the solo voce ones too. One could imagine him playing totally acoustic, perhaps sitting in a semi-circle of an audience, Spanish style? Terrific performer. And my wife giggled at the jokes, honest! Endearing, I think is the word.

Very beautiful Robert and I am sure the voice would be enhanced by that wonderful venue.

Thanks - it has been a lot of fun and Martin is a very sweet guy - despite what he said about my driving capabilities - and a man full of personal and artistic integrity. He is very easy to work with and very engaging and interesting company. I always learn a lot about the music when he comes over here.

It is funny that he sang Tu unmiked as his very last song because when he asked for requests I was willing him to sing that one - it is one of my favourite tangos but I had never heard him sing it live and although it is on his second album Asi Es Mi Tango I did not want to suggest it out loud in case it was one he could not play on guitar. He was being a good sport singing Por Una Cabeza before Tu because it is not a song he likes much - too much of a tango cliche.
