Know Thyself

Know Thyself. This Greek aphorism - whether coined by Socrates, Pythagoras or a myriad other possible sources - was inscribed in the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. To understand oneself is to understand the rest of humankind. I wonder how many of us understand ourselves even partially?

I've found it's often hard to hit a moving target.

And time has told me that "thyself" can change remarkably fast under the right conditions.

So wise and true. I think Buddhism (from what I have studied of it) deals with this constant and changing flux of the "self" far more satisfyingly than most other philosophies or religions.
