The 300 Mark

I've just realised that the last post was my 300th post! I began blogging on 23 June 2007. So that's about 23 posts a month! I don't know if I'll be able to keep this up. I may be starting a new job in September which will take me away from the computer in the daytime. (Perhaps a good thing?) We shall see.

Hi Solitary Walker! I have only recently become a Blogger myself and have really enjoyed yours. I do so agree with your remarks about Tennyson - being a "yellow-belly" in origin myself I was brought up on Tennyson. My relations lived only a few miles away from Somersby and our favourite walk was to Somersby church, where there used to be some very interesting memorabilia in a glass case - don't know whether it is still there (I.m speaking of fifty odd years ago!)

It certainly used to be there when we last went in... but that was some years ago... can't remember the exact objects. (His pipe?) I know there are more memorabilia in the Tennyson Room in Lincoln's Usher Art Gallery. I recall the sun dial in Somersby churchyard very well - must revisit soon. Recently we went to Tealby, and also to the Walkers' church on the hill overlooking Walesby - very primitive & lovely.

Thanks, JH. Off to the Lakes now for a few days...

Congratulations. 300 does have good, solid ring about it. Has all that blogging affected your approach to writing?

Hope you have a good time in the Lakes. I was having forty winks on the bank of Coniston Water only this afternoon. Also visited Rusland Church (near Grizedale forest) where Arthur and Evgenia Ransome are buried.
