Canal Du Midi

Watery reflections ...

Shadow and shade under the plane trees ...

Canalside settlement ...

Messing about in boats ...

I've always had a secret desire to live on a houseboat ...

Cyclist on the towpath ...

Quintessence of Canal: blue sky, white bridge, green water. And the path leading on, urging, seducing you to turn the next corner ...

We stopped in Dourgne just short of Revel this year, so enjoying your preview of our next year's walk. I've been debating which route into Toulouse, but after looking at your pictures, I'm convinced. Canal du Midi!

Canal du Midi fab - and easy walking - tho' it must be said there is intermittent motorway noise - which didn't come across in my post!

However, I'd definitely recommend this option - I heard lots of 'complaints' about the alternative path which involves a lot of up and down and is VERY poorly waymarked apparently...
