As we left Kinsale, they were unloading grain at the port. The colours reminded me of something. Ah yes, of course ...

Later, in Bantry, we hauled up at the Bantry Bay Hotel. The weather was sombre ...
But towards evening the rain cleared and a rinsed blue sky appeared from nowhere. I went for a run beside Bantry Bay. A crow danced crookedly along the pavement, and seagulls contemplated on one leg in the estuary mud. Archipelagos of seaweed and mossed stones speckled the bright strips of sand. And low surging banks of cloud levelled the distant mountain tops of the Beara Peninsula into a continuous plateau ...
Later we felt we deserved more live music and pints of Beamish ...
This is Bantry's wonderful statue of St Brendan the Navigator staring out to sea from Wolfe Tone Square.

I'm enjoying the tour, Robert. Love that shot of the beach and what appears to be a walkway on the side. Sounds like your had a great trip.
I want to go back Robert.
With George I am enjoying this tour. I was in Bantry for two weeks last August for an Irish music festival. We had such a good time staying out well past midnight quaffing pints of Guiness. Please keep it coming!!! Killarney is coming up, right?
That walkway was the path I did my run along, George ... I'm sure you will return, Pat ... Two weeks in Bantry, Dan? Is that ukelele heaven, or what?! Killarney coming up - after going back slightly to Clonakilty and encountering Bob Dylan! (Watch this space.)
you're getting me ready for holiday Robert!
Andy
