Chavanay To Bourg-Argental: The Path To Paradise

Chavanay.

Between Chavanay and Bessey.

The church at Bessey.

This way to Paradise.

View from the woods.

Someone's lovely driveway.

Landscape with horses.

The church at Saint-Julien-Molin-Molette. A friendly bar owner from this village phoned a hotel, Le Relais, in Bourg-Argental to book a room for me.

Paradise in sight: the approach to Bourg-Argental. For the moment, a perfect world.

Enviable landscapes for walking through. Oh for the life of the open road and the freedom to go where your footsteps lead you. To leave your momentary mark on a hamlet or town, interact with the chance met stranger and move on. I get sand in my wolrn out od shoes just looking at your blog.

When I look at the last photo of Bourg-Argental, I can easily understand how you experienced a perfect world, however fleeting, as you approached the village after a wonderful day of walking. I think I might have been tempted to hang up the backpack and stay a while, perhaps a lifetime.

Yes, those were wonderful landscapes, Arija. The open road calls me incessantly.

George - that was one of my most magical Caminos. No, THE most magical. The BEST. Perfect world.

I echo George's comment from that last photo. Perfection was never more perfect.
