Ana Moura's music sounds very interesting. Always on the lookout for "world music" elements to incorporate into Trio Gitan.

We were lucky enough to hear Ana Moura last year. We are have a large Portuguese community in the area, so the sometimes the fado singers come through here when on tour. Thanks for the reminder.

We hear such wonderful music, then get back in our normal routine and forget to stop and listen to some of the recordings we have.

It just popped into my head that Ana Moura said she was local at her concert. I think she was born in San Leandro, a nearby town with Portuguese roots. I checked her website, and it says she was born in the United States, though not where. http://www.anamoura.net

Heard some Ana Moura on the radio this week - on Cerys Matthews' show on 6 Music. Good stuff.
