Piper To The End

Mark Knopfler at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena on 11 October this year.

When I leave this world behind me / To another I will go / And if there are no pipes in heaven / I'll be going down below / If friends in time be severed / Someday we will meet again / I'll return to leave you never / Be a piper to the end

A bit different from the old days! We use to bump into them on tour (we being Chris Rea) use to be booked for the same kind of gigs, although they were much bigger at the time, brings back memories :-)
Weirdly enough my brother usually plays with his brother now in europe, David and apparently he is a real misery. mmmmmmmm your not related are you? my brother needs the work.

What an incredibly beautiful and haunting song, one that seems to beckon me home. Now, if I can only find where home is.

It's a lovely song, isn't it? I went to see Mark Knopfler on 11 Oct in Nottingham. He was supporting Bob Dylan. (No, Cranky Crone - not related!)

LOL! A lovely way to start a morning...although... hmmmm is this the best song to be singing along before heading up the church choir loft...well, for some of us it 'tis! :-)

George...Home...maybe nothing more than just the road under our feet? I'm finding it is for me.

Karin — 'Home ... maybe nothing more than just the road under our feet.' Mmm, I like that. Or, to see it from another angle, perhaps our ultimate home is the God-space soul-terrain within, rather than the transient structures of hut and house, road and path without?
