Bird Table And Cherry Tree

The lazy photographer: view through the kitchen window ten minutes ago. The wood pigeon perched on the bird table roof has temporarily scared off all the smaller birds. The tree is an ornamental cherry.

A lovely view, Robert. I like the Housman quote.

We too have a birdtable close to a cherry tree - and therefore similar opportunities for lazy photography. We keep getting a woodpecker on ours, which is nice to watch.

Yes, the sun was out this morning, George, and everywhere looked perfect. (I've been reading and enjoying very much all your recent posts, but have been commenting on very few blogs lately for one reason or another!)

What a treat to have a woodpecker in the garden, Dominic. I did see one the day before yesterday — but from the car.

one of the nicest things about this weather is getting to watch all the various birds flying in to feed. As well as a flat table and a hanging fat ball I've acquired a new feeder - a peanut picker, and was amazed how fast it was emptied. Good to see the sunlight in your photo, no sun here for a few days, and snow coming over my boots in the garden.

Thanks for your comment, dritanje — I'm a keen birdwatcher, and love watching the different birds coming to the bird table and the feeders.
