Beautiful, simply beautiful. It reminds me of the many nights I spent in folk clubs and pubs in my younger days singing similar stuff - although by no means, I think, as well as this. Thanks for posting it.

Saw the title and wondered what the dickens is that about?

Don't think I've come across the McGarrigles before.

Haunting - the voices blend so beautifully.

Ah, melancholy and lovely. Simply the music, isn't it, through human voices and sweet instruments. It soothes.

Yes, it's so beautiful, I'm almost moved to tears whenever I hear it. Damn it, I am moved to tears!

Dominic, Kate & Anna McGarrigle were a Canadian singer-songwriting duo from Quebec. Sadly Kate died in 2010. She was only 63. They regularly appeared at venues such as Glasgow's Celtic Connections folk festival, I believe. I've been listening to them for a long time, and love their songs, their voices and their commitment to roots music. Listen to their French, Cajun-inspired stuff — it is fantastic. And their rendition of 'Talk to Me of Mendocino' is sublime.

And Rufus Wainwright is the son of Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright...

Love this version - their voices are magical alone and together absolutely sublime.
