Weaver Of Grass

Taken on a visit to The Weaver of Grass and The Farmer last weekend.

A Man of Few Words

No smile
or word of greeting;
just a raised forefinger
on the steering wheel.

No word of praise
or complaint;
just tacit acceptance.

No eulogies,
no promise of undying love;
just the cuckoo flower,
the hazel nuts,
the subtle tail feather of the grey partridge,
brought in the afternoon
and given with few words,
but saying more
than any gaudy bunch of roses.

THE WEAVER OF GRASS

A beautiful, quiet piece of work - and a nice thank-you note too, I think.

Very lovely, Robert, and great to see this fine portrait of Pat and the Farmer.

I really like Weaver's poem, Nick... and George, yes, I think it's a pleasing portrait, specially since I took several photos in a complete rush at the end of the evening, and I had my camera on the wrong settings!

This was a shock Robert when I switched to your site!! Actually it is not a bad photograph at all - and I wrote that poem a long time ago. It is still as true today as it ever was. Thanks for putting it on.

The poem is lovely, Pat. I like it a lot.

I love portrait photography, and, even though I had to scramble for this shot in a few seconds at the end of the evening, and had my camera all wrong, and the lighting was dim, perhaps I resurrected the shot into something... I think both of your characters, your difference and your closeness, come through.

I like photography on the go, on a whim, low-tech minimalist stuff, which can often tell a greater truth (after a bit of editing)...

The poem by The Weaver of Grass and your portrait of the Weaver of Grass and the Farmer move me. Thank you for this today.
