Oh, that's beautiful!! We had a mildly pink sky this evening, but nothing like that!

Nice pictures!

Beautiful colours - like old Children's Bible illustrations...

Really lovely photos, Solitary.

I don't think I've ever seen a gaudy sunrise or sunset I didn't like—or that wasn't worth a photo or two.

I'm sure I saw one of the clouds in the third photo over here! :)

Seriously, it was very similar in Wensleydale - and it does make me wonder how far you have to travel from a given point to see a completely different skyscape. It should be an easy calculation, given the height of clouds and the curvature of the earth.

ps Your stuff on Hesse has got me reading Steppenwolf, which I found in an Oxfam shop recently.

Oh yeah. Dead easy. Um, well the clouds were kinda low-ish, and the earth - well, it's slightly curved hereabouts, isn''t it (didn't Columbus or someone discover that?); so, taking into account the geodetic bearing, and the prevailing winds (which were NW yesterday) & wind strength (about 2-3 on the Beaufort Scale)... I reckon you saw that cloud in Wensleydale about 20 minutes before we did!!!

And if you believe that...:)

Beware of the Steppenwolf. Though it's about middle-age, it's really a young man's book.
